March 4, 2010:
I've got snow as of right now. Not sure if it will stay or if I will get more. I think we are getting another storm tomorrow. If I don't update or don't return emails, I'm without power.

Winter Notice
We are now fully into winter and expecting snow on any given day. I am a very
fast shipper, but living in the mountains with snow I am sometimes unable to get out for a few days. If you are in a huge hurry, please email me before placing your order, so I can tell you if the snow will affect a fast delivery. Regardless of my conditions, I will figure out within 3-5 days a way to get out and get your purchase to the post office. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Below
is a photo of my private road to get out to the post office in the snow.

Lampworkers Tips & Tricks
I just changed my workbench and it moved my lights and electrical. To make sure that my Belson rod warmer is turned off, I plugged it into a power strip and added a night light that has to be manually turned off. I leave the night light at the ON position all of the time, letting me know that my oven is still hot. When I leave the studio I can just glance and see that all of my electrical/hot items have been turned off with just a glance that the night light is off.
Arrow Springs sells a 6 in 1 graphite round bead mold. I found that it is a very useful tool in determining consistent sizes of beads. I choose a size that I want to start my beads, from the six sizes, and then start my bead with my original base color measured in a chosen size in the bead mold. From there when you decorate the original piece it comes out very close to each bead with the same design. It is especially helpful when you want to make mulitple items all the same size or when preparing to use any of the bead presses.
I just hooked up my new Belson Gold n Hot Ceramic Oven to heat my glass rods before putting them into the flame. I cannot tell you what a difference this tiny little appliance has made in my work..!!!! First of all, my background is boro, and I'm used to working fast..and hot. As we all know, you can't work cold soft glass rods the way you do with boro. Well, even after all these years of working soft glass, I still try to work fast and end up getting stung with a flying piece of glass. This tiny little appliance has eliminated that completely..!!! My only problem now is switching out my colors to make room in that oven for more rods. Hmmmm.....
it looks like I "might" be adding another one in the near future. Any questions about this jewel of a tool.....give me a hollar.
